Dr Dina Afreem

Dr Dina Afreem graduated in 2012 from the College of Medicine at the University of Mosul in Iraq. She worked in different hospitals and specialties for five years before moving to Australia in 2018. In Australia, Dr Afreem has worked in various specialties, including general medicine, Geriatrics medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, paediatric, mental health, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Dr Afreem has worked in a number of hospitals around Australia, including Ballarat Base Hospital (Grampians Health), Northern Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg before moving into general practice.

Dr Afreem has a special interest in women’s health and did an extended skills training at Mercy Hospital for Women, which involved (IUD) Mirena/Kyleena insertion and removal, Implanon insertion and removal, contraception counselling, early pregnancy and miscarriage management, vulvar dermatological conditions, pessary insertion and removal, menopause, and cervical screening tests.

In her spare time, Dina enjoys swimming, watching Netflix and is known to be a great cook!

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB.)
  • Certificate of Women’s Health of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (CWH RANZCOG)
